Crystal Fae (Jackson) Alyea went home to be with her Lord
and Savior while at home in Sandy, Oregon at the age of 91, on May 7, 2026
surrounded by family.
Fae was born on October 6, 1934 in Halliday, North Dakota to
Bert & Margaret (Rank) Jackson and was the youngest of 12, all of whom are
deceased.
In 1938 she moved with her family to Silverton, Oregon where
she started 1st grade. The family then moved to Boring where she attended
Boring Grade School, graduating in 1948 and attended Sandy High School,
graduating in 1952.
Her first job was as Fred Proctor's secretary at Clackamas
County Bank for one year. In 1954 she was hired by Gresham Transfer and worked
there many years before being employed by Sandy Truck Line.
Fae married Charles "Chuck" Alyea on May 8, 1959.
They were married until his passing in November of 2007.
Chuck & Fae raised 2 daughters Janelle (Richard) Dyal
and Loretta (Mike) Starkel. They were the proud grandparents of 7. Matthew
(Brooke) Dyal, Tressa (Jason) Nicholls, Nicole Starkel, Amanda (Greg) Renfro,
Laura Silva (deceased 2009), Josh Starkel, and Chelsea Starkel. She was GG to
18 great grandchildren, 8 of whom were with her at her passing. She also is
survived by many loving nieces and nephews and their spouses who called and
visited her frequently.
Fae enjoyed time with family. She liked cooking for the
family and playing games - never letting anyone else win if she could help it!
Scrabble and card games were her favorites. She loved gardening and showing off
what she grew. Chuck and Fae bought a place in Yuma and spent many winters
there after retirement.
Chuck and Fae attended The Little Brown Church in Boring for
many years. In later years they attended Sandy Baptist. Fae attended Dover
Community Church for a short time after Chuck passed away.
Fae became a Christian in her 20's and her final note we
found on a scrap of paper by her chair was: It is well with my soul. I'll be
waiting for you!
