Robert Walter Geister of Gresham, Oregon passed away
December 31, 2025, at the age of 82.
Robert was born March 12, 1943, to Charles and Bernice
Geister of Tulsa, Oklahoma. He graduated from Oklahoma State University with a
degree in chemistry and accepted a position in Chicago with Dow Chemical. He
was drawn to a life of service and ministry to others, however, and
subsequently embarked upon a career in medicine. He began his private podiatry
practice in 1976 in Portland, Oregon, retiring after 42 years.
Robert was a lifelong musician and songwriter, with a great
love for Christ and his family. He lived in pursuit of faith and discipleship
in all areas of his life, offering encouragement and kindness to all who knew
him. With openness and genuine curiosity, he delighted in meeting new people
and hearing about their lives. He was a devoted father, husband, and friend,
and lived a life full of laughter and love.
Robert is survived by his wife, Mary Geister, children Jason
Geister, Kelly Geister, Brendan Murphy, Brigid Murphy McCall, and Emily
Fladstol; grandchildren Theodore Murphy and Clover McCall, and
step-grandchildren Leo Adams-Pastor and Terrance McCall. He is preceded in
death by his daughter, Kendall Geister, and many other beloved family members.
A service to celebrate Robert's life and legacy will be held
at 1pm on March 14 at Living Word Fellowship in Boring, Oregon.
In lieu of
flowers, donations in Robert’s honor may be made to Voice of The Martyrs
Ministry.
