Longtime Sandy resident, Adeline Grassl died peacefully at her home on Sunday, August 28, 2011.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church in Sandy. Burial will follow at Cliffside Cemetery. A viewing will be held at Sandy Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 from 4:00 until 7:00.
She was born, Adeline Rodella Grassl to George and Edith (Kalbow) Grassl on October 22, 1916 in Ladysmith, Wisconsin. She was raised in Wisconsin and Minnesota where she received her elementary and high school education. In 1942, the family moved to Oregon and Adeline worked building life floats for the Navy during World War II. In 1944, Adeline made her permanent home on a farm near Sandy and began her career with Clackamas County Bank until retiring in 1982.
Adeline was actively involved at St. Michael Catholic Church for many years. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and doing various types of crafts.
She is survived by her brother and sister in law, Gerald and Kathleen Grassl of Sandy and many nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Michael Catholic Church or Mt. Hood Hospice.
