Alice “May” Osborn died peacefully at her home in Gresham August 1, 2013 a few days before her 99th birthday.
A funeral service was held at Sandy Funeral Home Monday August 5th with burial following at Cliffside Cemetery.
She was born Alice May Searle August 16, 1914 in Ballard, Washington to Sarah Corrine (Bane) and Floyd M. Searle. Soon after her birth the family moved to the Portland area where May was raised and received her education. After graduation May attended Marinello Beauty School and began her career as a beautician. She eventually owned her own beauty shop and after many successful years retired in 1986.
On August 15, 1970 May married Terrance “Ted” Osborn in Reno, Nevada. She and Ted enjoyed their home on Cedar Creek in Sandy for many years.
May’s hobbies included oil painting and working out in her yard. She also had a special place in her heart for her cats who she loved dearly.
Survivors include her son, Scott Osborn of Portland; daughters, Michele Lucian of WA and Suzanne Newman of CA; nieces, Talia Searle and Lynn Spain both of Gresham; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
