Long time Sandy resident, Arthur Caba, died at his home at Sandy on December 27, 2010. He was 57.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30 PM, on Friday, December 31, at Sandy Funeral Home.
Arthur Griffin Caba was born in Portland, Oregon on December 14, 1953 to Hallie and Elanor (John) Caba. In his youth, his family moved to Sandy where he received his education. At a young age, he began working various jobs.
On February 24, 1973, he married Bonnie Lewis in Sandy. They made their permanent home in Sandy where they raised their family.
Arthur was employed at Nelson Tire in Gresham prior to working in the construction industry. He worked as a roofer for many years then served as a quality control supervisor. He retired in the late 1990’s but remained in Sandy.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, going to Tribal Pow-wows, collecting Native American Art, spending time with his family and spoiling his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1996. Survivors include her daughter, Tonya Caba of Sandy; son, Abel Caba of Sandy; brothers, Hallie Caba, Jr. of Wasco, Oregon and Carl “Sid” Caba of Silverton and 6 grandchildren.
