Asa Lee Way was born on June 25, 1936 in Heppner, Oregon to Daniel and Ivy (Vinson) Way. He was raised and received his schooling in Lexington. After graduating from Lexington High School, he entered the U.S. Army.
After his honorable discharge, he furthered his education at Portland State University, also playing football.
On June 1, 1962, Ace was united in marriage to Beulah “Boots” Davis in Lewiston, Idaho. Shortly after getting married, they made their home in Portland and began their family. In the late 1960’s, the family moved to the Midwest as Ace pursued his interests in the computer industry. Missing the beauty of Oregon and family, they returned and later made their permanent home in Sandy in 1976. Ace pursued his career in road construction until retiring. After retirement, he enjoyed traveling in their 5th wheel, spending time with their grandchildren and family, golfing, attending their grandchildren’s sport activities and taking trips to Hawaii.
Surviving is his son Kevin Way of Sandy; his daughter, Diana Way of Gresham; 4 grandchildren, Kelsey, Tyler, Taylor and Megan; his brother Marvin Way of Stanfield, Oregon. He is preceded in death by his wife Beulah “Boots” in June of 2000.
The family suggests contributions be made to Mt. Hood Hospice or Sandy V.F.W.
