Longtime Boring resident, Bernard Rueschenberg died at his home on Wednesday, July 24, 2013. He was 84.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church in Sandy on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held at Willamette National Cemetery.
Bernard A. Rueschenberg was born on June 11, 1929 in Frankford, South Dakota. He was raised in Watertown, South Dakota and received his schooling there.
Bernie served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 until 1955.
On November 2, 1965, he was united in marriage to Ramona Asmussen in Watertown, South Dakota. The family moved to Oregon in 1969 and lived in Portland for a time until moving to Boring where they made their permanent home.
Bernie worked in the automotive parts industry his entire career until retiring in the early 1990’s.
Bernie enjoyed working in his yard and “puttering” around his property. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR. He was a longtime member of St. Michael Catholic Church.
Surviving is his wife Ramona; his children, Renee, Robin, Alan, John and Jered; 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; his twin sister, Bernadine and his brother LaVerne.
