In loving memory, we honor the life of Brenda Irvin who passed away January 15, 2022 at the age of 64 years old.
Brenda was born in Amarillo Texas to Dixie Jenks) Wesselink and Jim Yoerger. From the young age of two until her death she resided in her hometown of Sandy, OR.
On a vacation to Mexico in the 1990's Brenda fell in love with the culture and people of Teacapan, Sinaloa, Mexico. Brenda and her husband, Joe Irvin, spent the majority of each year at their home in Mexico.
Although it was the sun that originally drew them, they ended up falling in love with the people and their culture. Brenda was especially drawn to the immediate medical, dental and physical needs of the children while passionately advocating for change. This became her lifework and passion until shortly before her death. To their community, she was lovingly known as “The Angel of the Children”.
Many will remember Brenda as caring, compassionate and selfless.
She is survived by her husband Joe Irvin of Sandy, four children Chris Friberg, Jenny Quirie, Danny Gilman & Jessica Gilman, her mother Dixie Wesselink and step-father Ary Mulder, sisters Becky Brown and Jodi Sanders and brother Karry Yoerger.
