Longtime Sandy resident, Buddy Horttor died at his home on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at the age of 78.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Sandy VFW Post 4273 on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
Buddy Joe Horttor was born on January 12, 1931 in . He entered the U.S. Army on November 7, 1951. After his honorable discharge and being awarded the Purple Heart on August 5, 1953, he moved to Sandy where he made his permanent home and raised his family. Buddy was a heavy duty mechanic for over 20 years and for the last several years he worked for the Oregonian.
Buddy enjoyed fishing, photography, taking his family on road trips and in his later years, spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving is his wife Anna; his sons, Michael, Wayne and John; his daughters Pamla and Angie and 11 grandchildren.
