In Loving Memory Of

Caroline Kay Eisert

May 4th, 1941 - July 28th, 2022

Obituary

Boring Resident, Caroline Eisert, passed away peacefully at her son Jerry’s residence on July 28th, 2022, surrounded by her family.

She was 81 years old.

Caroline Kay Eisert was born on May 4th, 1941 in Grenola, Kansas to Clarence and Mary Hull. She was number 8 of 13 children. Caroline lived there until July of 1942 when at the age of 14 months they moved to Gresham, Oregon. She started at Pleasant Valley School as a first grader and attended there until 1955 when graduating the 8th grade. She then attended Gresham high school and graduated in 1959.

She met Kenneth Eisert in 1959, and married him in November of that year. Ken, prior to Caroline, had a 1-year-old son, Steven. 2 years later their family finally became whole when they had their son Jerry. They made their home in Happy Valley for 15 years and then moved to Estacada in 1973. They lived there until 1999, when they broke land and made their final home in Boring, Oregon.

The first seven years Caroline and Kenneth were married, Ken was a superintendent for a construction company. In 1967, they then took a leap of faith and bought a local business, Foster Road Feed Store, which they owned and operated for 28 years with their two sons. They eventually decided to retire and sold the business in 1994.

Caroline & Ken became grandparents in December of 1979 when their first granddaughter was born. 5 more grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren were all added to the family in following years. The grandkids kept Caroline busy & joyful up until her very last breath.

In her free time, Caroline enjoyed gardening- her and Ken always had the biggest and best garden. She also loved to paint. In her later years she taught painting classes that her friends attended weekly at her home. When she wasn’t keeping herself occupied with a grandchild and working around the house, she loved to go bowling. Every Friday she would take her grandchildren down to the bowling alley to watch her play.

Her husband Kenneth passed in 2009. Caroline eventually met Mike Bouwens, whom she shared the remainder of her life with. Her and Mike enjoyed bowling together and shared many of the same interests.

To know Caroline was to love her. She was always the hardest working woman! Her love for her family and others around her was unmatched. She was never worried about herself, but everyone else, even on her very last days. This family will never be quite the same without her in it. Though we rest assured she is up in heaven with the Lord and Kenneth, the void we have in our hearts for her will never be filled.

This isn’t a goodbye; it’s a see you later.

Caroline is survived by her two sons, Steven and Jerry, five grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren and 5 of her siblings.

A grave side service will be held at Willamette National Cemetery on Thursday, August 25th, 2022, at 1:00 pm for immediate family.

A Celebration of Life for everyone who knew & loved her, will be held on Saturday,

August 27, 2022, at 1:00pm at Jerry Eisert’s home in Boring, Oregon
