Catherine “Cathi” Ann (Fisher) Fox was born to Harold Fisher and Doris (Aikman) Fisher at Saint Vincent Hospital in Portland, Oregon on December 25th, 1947, and died in her home in Brightwood, Oregon on June 30th, 2022. She was 74 years old.
Cathi lived her early life in the Parkrose area of Portland. Then in 1961 she moved with her family to the mountain area where she graduated from Welches Grade School in 1962. Her family moved back to Portland and Cathi attended Marshall High School for her freshman and most of her sophomore year. The family then moved back to their home on the mountain and Cathi graduated from Sandy High School in 1966. Cathi went on to Portland Community College graduating with an associate degree in 1967.
Cathi married Milton (Milt) Fox II on September 3rd, 1971. They made their home in Brightwood and were married for over 50 years. Cathi worked at the Schnitzer’s Industrial Air Products Welding Store in Portland until September of 1973, when Milt and Cathi were blessed with the birth of Sarah Elizabeth Fox on October 20th, 1973. Cathi worked as a Home Maker and Mother for most of her married life. She was renowned for her cooking, especially her desserts.
No doubt because of early detection, modern medicine, hope, and courage, Cathi survived cancer on three different occasions. She did lose her last battle against another terrible disease, dementia.
Cathi was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Doris Fisher, daughter Sarah Elizabeth (Fox) Mitchell, sister Joan (Fisher) Sterling Anderson. She is survived by her husband Milt Fox, sister Mary (Fisher) Higgins, sisters in law Mary (Fox) Keegan, Julianne (Fox) Knotts, and Barbara (Fox) Erickson, and many nieces and nephews.
Cathi was a member of the Hoodland Women’s Club and the Mt. Hood Lions Club.
At Cathi’s request there will be no memorial service at this time, a family service will take place at a later date.
Cathi’s family wishes to thank her neighbors who came to be with her, and those members with the Mt. Hood Hospice team who provided wonderful support, care, and comfort for her. Of special mention is Cathi’s wonderful hospice nurse Amy.
