Sandy resident, Chuck Holmes died in his sleep on Sunday, December 18, 2011. He was 52.
A viewing will be held at Sandy Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 20th from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, December 21st from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
Charles Bernard Holmes III was born on March 21, 1959 in Portland to Charles and Barbara (Bowers) Holmes. Chuck began his elementary education in Portland and finished his schooling in Corbett. He graduated from Corbett High School as Valedictorian. Shortly after graduating, he entered the U.S. Army and served for 8 years.
On February 5, 1989 he was united in marriage to Maude Roberta Everett in Killeen, Texas. Later that year, they moved to Oregon and made their home in Gresham. For the last several years, Chuck has been employed at the Fred Meyer Distribution Center in Clackamas. Seven years ago, Chuck and Roberta moved to Sandy where they made their permanent home.
Chuck had a great interest in radio control cars and he enjoyed photography and especially taking pictures of his family.
Surviving is his wife Roberta; his grandmother, Doris Bowers of Portland; his mother, Barbara Brown of Portland; his father, Charles Holmes Jr. of Idaho; his brother, Larry Holmes of Portland; his sister, Vickey Walsborn of Gresham; his sons, Nathan Holmes of Gresham and Justin Holmes of Idaho; his daughters, Annastasia Hester of Troutdale and Tonya Shollenbarger of Clackamas; 5 grandchildren and one expected in August.
He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
