Chikako Stagich, retired Travel Agent and homemaker, died January 21, 2015. She was the loving wife of Tim Stagich in Sandy, Oregon and devoted mother of Yoko and Hirohiko who live in Japan. She was known as “Kay” to all who knew and loved her in America.
Kay was born in Japan on December 18, 1946 where she raised two children and enjoyed her hobbies of painting, sewing and needle-point. She was an avid reader, loved classical music and was an active student of English speaking and writing in Japan where she also worked as a Japanese instructor and met her husband, Tim Stagich. In 1995, Kay and Tim married and moved to Hawaii where Kay worked as a Travel Agent and Supervisor for the Japan Travel Bureau. She loved traveling, and with her husband, Tim, she visited Europe and stayed several days in Oxford, England. She also traveled across America with her husband and toured the Great Pyramids of Egypt. Kay moved with Tim to Oregon on August 1, 2002 and lived in Eagle Point before moving to Sandy in October of 2005 where she took up gardening and lived happily with her husband, Tim until her death on January 21, 2015.
Kay is survived by her husband, Tim Stagich, sister Kishiko Koide, and son and daughter Hirohiko and Yoko and several grandchildren. Final arrangements and services were handled by Sandy Funeral Home.
