Obituary

Sandy resident Clifford Charles Jensen, 75 died peacefully at his home on April 18th with his wife by his side.  He lost his long battle with kidney disease.

 

A funeral service will be held at 10:30AM Friday, April 25, 2014 at Sandy Funeral Home. Committal will be held at Cliffside Cemetery in Sandy followed by a reception at the Sandy Fire Department from noon to 2PM.

 

Clifford was born in Pasadena, California on January 23, 1939 to Louise (Shultz) and Clifford F. Jensen. After graduation from high school Cliff went to work at Jensen Printing Company which was owned by his father. He continued to work with his dad until the 1980’s.

 

On April 9, 1960 Cliff married his sweetheart Lorinda Rodgers. After a honeymoon at the family cabin in Sandy, Oregon the couple settled in West Covina, California. Their first son Clifford, was born at Fort Hood, Texas, where Cliff was serving in the U. S. Army First Armored Division. Son Christopher followed two years later when they moved back to West Covina, California.

 

Cliff had many hobbies and interests including, camping, boating, gold panning, scuba diving, woodworking, and old cars.

 

In 1998 Cliff and Lorinda decided to retire to the cabin in Sandy. He quickly became involved with the Route 26 Cruisers followed by volunteer work with the Sandy Area Chamber of Commerce. In 2002 Cliff became a support volunteer with the Sandy Fire Department, assisting where needed until his illness forced him to stop. Cliff was generous with his time and energy, giving to organizations and individuals. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

 

Cliff is survived by his wife Lorinda and his sons, Clifford of CA and Christopher of Sandy.
