Former Boring resident, Clark McGinty died suddenly at his home on Friday, November 12, 2010. He was 52.
A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel of Sandy Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Cliffside Cemetery.
Clark Ellis McGinty was born on December 2, 1957 in Santa Clara, California to Mac and Roberta (Harshman) McGinty. He was raised and received his schooling in the Santa Clara area.
On February 14, 1976, Cody married Donna Kopecki. They made their home in Sonora, California and began their family. Cody was employed for the Sonora Water Treatment. They spent their “free time” camping and fishing in the mountains. Cody and Donna were later divorced.
On June 21, 1980, Cody married Karen Davison. They lived in Sonora and started their family. In 1986, the family moved to Oregon to be near Karen’s family and made their home in Boring. Cody worked for the City of Portland Water Bureau. He enjoyed gardening with his kids and teaching them how to fish. After 13 years of marriage, he and Karen were divorced. Cody then moved to Oregon City where he owned and operated his own business. He later began driving truck for a Portland Recycling Company until 2007 when his health forced him to retire.
Surviving are his daughters, Jennifer DeLong of Manteca, California and Katie Wagner of Sandy; his son, Casey McGinty of Gresham; his brothers, Danny Cushman of Alabama, Bryan McGinty of California and Jason McGinty also of California; his sister, Tami Peterson of California; 5 grandchildren, Kyle, Kylie, Micah, Brianna and Cameron.
He is preceded in death by his son Jared who died on June 12th of this year.
Cody enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting and sturgeon fishing. He enjoyed cooking both for himself and others and making his own spices. He had a love for animals especially cats. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and will be remembered by his family and friends as “a very simple man”!
