Sandy resident Dale Sutton went to walk with the Lord on October 22nd, 2021. He was 81.
Dale loved and was loved deeply by his family and friends. He never met a stranger with whom he could not strike up a friendly conversation. Dale was an active member in his church, Good Shepherd Community Church, and loved teaching others about the Lord.
He served his country in the United States Navy aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS Ranger. You would often see him wearing his CV-61, USS Ranger, baseball cap to show the pride he held for his country and the US Military.
Dale enjoyed many years of hunting and fishing in Oregon. He shared these experiences with his family, especially his brothers, hunting from sunrise to sunset, before returning to camp to enjoy a meal and trade stories around the fire.
If the topic of travel arose during your conversation with him, he would recount fond memories from riding his Goldwing Aspencade motorcycle with his wife Ruth throughout the United States. Many of the rocky mountain states held a special place in his heart and he was lucky enough to accumulate rich stories about his travels there.
Dale had many jobs throughout his life but officially retired from United Grocers as a transportation supervisor. But even in retirement, he kept himself busy transporting vehicles for Ford and Chevrolet in Sandy.
Dale is survived by his wife, Ruth, and his three grown children, Robert, Wendy, and Emery (Bonnie), as well as, grandchildren, Chandra (Andres) and Terra.
He will be deeply missed.
