Dale was born on a farm in Logan, Kansas to Ira Willis Kendall and Viola Bell Lowry Kendall July 7, 1945. They moved to Oregon when Dale was 10 years old where he attended Metolius Grade School then Madras High School. Dale went into the Marine Corps and served in Vietnam. After getting out of the service he married Betty Jean Barger. They later moved to Gresham, where their 2 sons were born. Dale worked for Gresham co-op for 10 years. After buying our home in Sandy, Dale drove log truck, then he drove long haul and later he worked at Gresham Transfer, hauling cement for The Glacier cement plant. Dale enjoyed hunting and gardening, especially growing dahlias and tomatoes. He always planted too many tomato seeds, so friends and neighbors were good to help him get rid of the excess plants. Dale also enjoyed playing cribbage, putting together models of trucks and equipment, and working puzzles during the winter months.
Dale is survived by his wife of 56 years Betty Jean Kendall, their 2 sons, Richard of Troutdale and Glen of Gresham, and two grandkids, Kody of Portland and Ashley of southwest Portland.
There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
