On the 20th day of October 2024 Darin Michael Penner passed away peacefully in his home in Fairview, Oregon. Darin was 56 years old... leaving behind a legacy that was cut short far too soon.
Darin was born on August 29,1968 to Michael and Luan (Zack) Penner in Silverton, Oregon. Not wanting to go the standard route Darin entered the magnet program to attend Benson Polytechnic High School. He went on to join the Army as an Airborne Ranger where he served for 3 years. With hopes of becoming a firefighter Darin studied fire sciences and EMT training. He switched gears and put his fun-loving nature to work when he became a 20-year partner in the Wooden Chicken Pub.
Darin is survived by his ex-wife Tanya Penner and their son Devin Penner, as well as his partner Rachel Olsen and their daughter Chloe Penner. Darin is also mourned by his parents Michael and Luan Penner, and his sister Dawn Gaffney. He leaves a huge hole in the hearts of his family and friends who were always entertained by his antics and hilarious sense of humor. He truly brought the life to the party.
A service in Darin’s honor will be held at Willamette National Cemetery on November 18 at 1pm. Please be aware the covered area is extremely small with seating for immediate family only. A celebration of life will follow at 2:30p at Mt. View Golf Course in Boring, Or.
Though Darin may be gone, his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Until we meet again...
