Darwin Merle Nimrod was born September 23, 1928, in Wakefield Nebraska to Pearl and Rutherford Nimrod.
After graduating from Wakefield High School, he continued working with his father on their family farm and those of other friends & families. In 1948 he married Ruth Lederer. Together they started their family before making the long trek out west to Colton, Oregon in 1958. Darwin continued working on the family and neighboring farms until he started working as a warehouseman for Safeway Grocery stores. Besides the love of his life and his children and grandchildren, he loved fishing. He would take his children and grandchildren on fishing outings whenever he could. In his later years he would enjoy Saturday morning donuts and visiting with family.
Darwin was a longtime member of Colton Lutheran Church. He could be seen driving his lawnmower down Wall Street to tend to the lawn at the church.
Darwin passed away on January 10, 2024, at the age of 95. He is survived by his two sons, five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
