David Hooley, born in Portland, Oregon in 1943 passed away on October 21st at home in Sandy, Oregon. He was 80 years old. He grew up in West Linn where he was a proud West Linn Lion and played football, basketball and baseball. He graduated from Portland State University in 1966. He and his wife served in the Peace Corps in Guatemala for two years. When he returned to Oregon, he joined his brother in the logging industry. David drove a log truck and eventually his son Ed worked with him. When David retired, he continued his pastime of driving while delivering Meals on Wheels. He was married to Cheryl Barnes Hooley for 58 years. They have three children and 8 grandchildren. He enjoyed singing and playing guitar.
David is survived by his wife Cheryl and children Meleta, Joanna and Edwin, who miss him very much and will continue watching many sporting events in his honor. David was predeceased by his parents, Wayne and Hazel Hooley and his brothers, John, Wayne Jr. and Roger.
Memorial service to be held November 17th at 1:00 at Arise Family Fellowship (formerly Sandy Baptist Church).
