Sandy resident, Dennis Jones died Sunday, October 25, 2009 at Mt. Hood Medical Center. He was 67.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Sandy River Ward.
Dennis Thomas Jones was born September 28, 1942 in Ogden, Utah to Maxwell and Virginia (Thomas) Jones. His family moved to Rupert, Idaho when he was a child. Dennis received his schooling in Rupert and graduated from Minedoka High School in 1961. He attended Boise State College in the early 1970’s. He married Willie Chaney on August 1, 1977 in Boise, Idaho. They made their home in Sandy in 1983 were he worked in institutional sales until his retirement about 5 years ago. Although he was retired he never quit working. He worked for TSA at the airport for the last 2 years.
He enjoyed scouting, camping, photography, movies, sailing, and enjoyed the coast with his sweetie.
Survivors include his wife Willie of Sandy; daughters, Laura Whitney of Lehi, Utah, Connie Jones of Sandy; Cherie Mathews of Portland; sons, Max Jones of Nampa, Idaho, Chad Jones of Meridian, Idaho, Eric Jones of Boise, Idaho; brothers, Kenny Jones of Twin Falls, Idaho, Robert Jones of Boise, Idaho, Steven Jones of Phoenix, Arizona; sister, Cindy Catmull of Farr West, Utah; 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
