Longtime mountain resident Dessie Anna Cadd passed away Monday, July 28, 2014. She was 71.
A Celebration of Dessie’s life will be held 2PM, Sunday, August 10, 2014 at the Resort at the Mountain (hotel side).
Dessie was born November 30, 1942 in Jordan, Montana to Sylvia N. (Lee) and John D. Euell. In 1948 the family moved to Fairfield, Montana where Dessie finished up her schooling. Dessie eventually went to work in the banking industry in Seattle where she was a loan department manager.
In 1995 on a trip down to Welches for her daughter’s birthday she met Paul Cadd. It was love at first sight for both of them and not long afterward, on August 25, she and Paul were married. They were both looking forward this August to celebrating their 19 year anniversary.
More than anything else Dessie loved being a mom and grandma. She was known both up and down the mountain as a loving and gracious “good will ambassador”, always ready and willing to lend a hand or simply to give a hug when needed. Her radiant personality, energy, strength and compassion touched many lives over the years and she will be missed by each one who knew her.
Survivors include her husband Paul of Welches and his 3 sisters, brother and their spouses; her sons, John Nettles of Everett, WA and Arthur Nettles of Marysville WA; daughters, Dianne Herz of Sandy and Lisa Cormican of Battle Ground, WA and their spouses; step-children, Susan Spalding of Clayton, CA, Teri Contreras of Mesquite, TX and spouses; brother Doyle Euell of Glasgow, MT; sisters, Pattie Johnson of Great Falls, MT and Ruth McKinlay of Hobson, MT; 9 grandchildren, 2.5 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
