Shortly after graduating from Franklin High School, Dewayne started his lifelong career with the Oregon State Highway Department. He began working with the paint crew striping the highways, later fulfilling the position of supervisor for the largest bridge crew in the state of Oregon. He took great pride in the work that he and his crews accomplished.

In May of 2005, officially retired. Dewayne kept very busy after retiring spending time at their property at Crooked River Ranch where he developed five acres into a “paradise” for his family and friends. Dewayne loved hunting, fishing, spending time outdoors but most of all, loved spending time with his classic cars of all makes and models which were a never ending project!!!!!!!!!
