Dolores Edna Roberson was born to Glen & Helen Roberson – the 2nd of 5 children. Being born and raised in the home of a dedicated and humble Nazarene Pastor, Dolores committed her heart to the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age. With great joy she served the Lord in the Church of the Nazarene for her entire life. As is the living goal of all followers of Christ – she longed to receive her promise of Eternal Life and to hear the words of her loving Savior “Well done, Thou good and faithful servant!”
Dolores met and married her sweetheart Arthur Standard on June 8, 1952. Together they shared the joy of raising three children: Marcella, Doug, and Marisa. They lived in Roswell, NM; San Bernadino, CA; Tucson, AZ; San Jose, CA; Sandy, OR; and Kingsburg, CA. Her life’s joy was being a mother, homemaker, and a loving wife & partner with Arthur through their almost 68 years of marriage. She would often mention how much she deeply loved and missed her sweetheart over the past 2 and ½ years.
As a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend – Dolores is remembered by everyone as being a sweet, loving, and kind role model. Her unconditional love was shared with everyone she came into contact with. So many have reflected upon the great influence that she had upon their lives – both as children and into their adult lives.
With her family as her central focus, she enjoyed gardening, cooking, camping, working alongside Arthur on his many adventurous endeavors, and whatever else brought joy to their little family.
