At the age of 70, Donald Arthur Bench went home to be with the Lord, suddenly, on September 9th 2014, of a fatal heart attack. He had a love for the Lord and the Word of God that blessed all those around him.
Don was born in Portland, Oregon on July 2nd 1944. With four siblings, he was raised in Sandy, OR. Growing up he attended Cottrell Elementary and Sandy Union High School. His freshman year he met a lovely young lady, Ms. Linda Sharon Snyder, who he dated all throughout high school. In 1961, his junior year, Don enlisted in the US Navy serving on ships and an Icebreaker in Antarctica till 1965. After finishing his time in the Navy he married his high school sweetheart.
Throughout his life he enjoyed taking long road trips with his kids and wife to Yellowstone National Park or Mt. Rushmore and teaching his kids how to hunt and fish. Don also enjoyed reloading and going to the gun range.
He was a loving husband and beloved father to his two daughters Joyce Pultz and Janice Angell; along with being an amazing father-in-law to Ryan Pultz & Jon Angell and a wonderful Grandpa to three amazing kids; Daniel Bench and Josh& Elizabeth Angell.
