Sandy resident Donald Perius, 80, died Thursday, April 18, 2013.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 25, 2013 at Sandy Funeral Home. Viewing will begin prior to the service at 10 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow at Willamette National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.
Donald Henry Perius was born March 9, 1933 in Mt. Carmel, North Dakota to Elizabeth M. (Kartes) and Henry Joseph Perius. After graduating from high school Don enlisted in the Army where he served honorably during the Korean War. Later he attended a Technical School in Los Angeles, CA and became a pressman.
Donald married Yvonne Murphy July 3, 1978 in Los Angeles. In 2006, Donald and Yvonne moved to Sandy and made their permanent home. Don and Yvonne loved to travel and enjoyed many trips together throughout the United States. Donald enjoyed watching NASCAR and going to the horse races. He will be greatly missed and remember by his great sense of humor and orneriness.
Don is survived by his wife Yvonne; daughters, Veronica Christopherson of Huntington Beach, CA and Vicky Cofer of Norwalk, CA; son, Donald Perius Jr. of Sandy, and grandchildren- Joey, Jeremy, Joshua and Justin Estrada and Deven Cofer. He was preceded in death by his daughter Tami.
