Donald Wayne Barrett was born February 17th, 1945 to Harold Barrett and Geraldine Meyers at St. Vincent Hospital in Portland. Don attended schools in the Portland area throughout his life, graduating from Grant High School and attending both the Oregon Culinary Institute and the Oregon School of Real Estate.
Don appreciated the married life and has been married several times. Don was married to Pamela Schmitz in August 14th, 1976 and though the relationship changed over time they remained close friends for the rest of his life.
For most of his life, Don lived and worked in Sandy in sales from cars, vacuums, and cookware to real estate. He could sell anything to anyone he met. He loved to spend time playing games such as cribbage and billiards and watching the Chicago Bulls and the Blazers. Don will be remembered for his love of fast cars and beautiful women and loved to attend car shows. He was the proud owner of several Corvettes including some of the classics that saw him through many good times. Many of the people who knew Don the best will remember his taste for comedy, especially corny jokes that would put a smile on your face for no extra charge (right?). Above all Don was a simple man that knew what he liked, if you asked he could tell you without hesitation that his favorite color was red, favorite meal was a perfectly cooked steak, the best movies were the kind that made you laugh, and that his favorite number was 23.
Don is survived by his sons; Rion Barrett, of Sandy, and Jason Bullis, of Virginia along with his brothers Jan Meyers and Bruce Meyers, of Portland and 9 grandchildren.
