Long time Sandy resident Donna Rae Patricia Norris, 72, died at her home Thursday, December 29 with her daughters by her side.
Viewing was held Friday Dec. 30 at Sandy Funeral Home and a Memorial was held Saturday, December 31 at Donna’s home. A private ceremony is planned for the summer of 2012.
Donna was born in Lincoln, Nebraska March 6th, 1939 to Clinton O. and Viola M. (Thurman) Lloyd. She spent her childhood in Beatrice, NB. In 1952 the family moved to Springdale, Oregon where she received the remainder of her education.
On February 3, 1954 Donna wed Ray Donald Norris in Portland. The couple lived in several towns in Oregon over the years as their family grew and they raised their 5 daughters. They finally settled in Sandy where they remained for the last 47 years.
Donna was a homemaker and lovingly dedicated herself to her family. She enjoyed sewing clothing for her girls and making sure that they and Ray were well fed and cared for. They lived in a small home which she kept spotless. Donna liked to travel. She also enjoyed hunting, fishing and rock hounding.
She is survived by her daughters Gloria (Bruce) Lucky of Sandy, Virginia (Ron) Miller of Rock Springs, WY, Patty (Dave) Schafer of Boring, Oria (Dean) Coe of Sandy, Marie (Steve) Prater of Rock Springs, WY, 13 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild; brother, Dick Lloyd of Boring, and sisters, Gloria Babb of AZ and Toni Bryant of Irrigon, OR. She was preceded in death by Ray in 2002 and her brother George Lloyd this year.
