Longtime Gresham resident, Donzella “Donnie” Lintner died at the age of 94 on Thursday, January 17, 2013 in Gresham.
Donnie was born on December 14, 1918 in Quimby, Iowa to William and Verna Riseling. She grew up in Cherokee County, Iowa where she graduated from Quimby High School in 1936. Directly after high school Donnie moved to the Gresham area with her family where she met George Lintner in June of 1938 and married three months later on September 9th. They made Gresham their permanent home where they ran George’s Alignment for many years until George’s retirement.
Donnie and George were avid square dancers and members of the Country Cut Ups in Boring. They enjoyed traveling in their motor home across the country and would often settle in Arizona for the winters.
She is survived by her sons Skip Lintner of Gleneden Beach, Oregon and Larry Lintner of Portland, her daughter Betty Holmlund of Gresham, 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband George and daughter Nancy Brown.
A joint memorial service for Donnie and George will be held at Sandy Funeral Home on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers contributions be made to Housecall Providers Inc. 4531 SE Belmont St. Suite 250 Portland, OR 97215.
