Dorothy Johnson died in Portland on May 1, 2011. She was 88.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, May 4, at Sandy Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sandy Ridge Cemetery.
She was born Dorothy Louise Goodnight in Shawnee, Oklahoma on August 12, 1922 to Ottis R. and Rosa (Kubick) Goodnight. She was raised in Oklahoma where in 1935, she married William Lawson Blocker. Their first child was Leo who was born in 1937; Donna in 1939; Bob in 1941; Ted in 1943 and Shirley in 1950.
Dorothy moved to Califonia in 1942 and then to Oregon in 1947 and worked for 30 years as a dietary cook in Salem. After retiring she moved to Gresham at Green Tee Estates Park.
She loved flowers and gardening and was known as the bead lady, making jewelry for her friends and family.
Surviving are her daughters, Shirley Phelps of Gresham and Donna
Delmonico of Vancouver, Washington; sons Bob and Ted Blocker both of Estacada; and a total of 37 grand, great and great-great grandchildren.
