Dorothy Lucille Searls was born on April 17, 1922 in Aloha, Oregon to Roy and Carrie Hickey. Raised in Brightwood, Oregon, Dorothy graduated from Sandy High School in 1940. She lived in her home on Pleasant Street for 67 years. Dorothy was an active member in the Sandy community and was awarded Queen of the Sandy Mountain Festival in 1994. She spent many years working at Mt. Hood Cleaners and was a founding member of the Ladies Auxiliary Sandy VFW.
Dorothy was married to Arthur “Pete” Searls in 1947 until he passed away in 1988. She remarried Alfred Lindland in 1993. He passed away in 2004.
Dorothy loved pets, camping, gardening, and especially loved her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Carol Searls of Portland, Kathy Heising and Shirley Searls of Gresham, her three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Mt. Hood Hospice.
