Longtime Sandy resident, Earl Dibble died at Avamere at Sandy on Friday, November 5, 2010. He was 75.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 12:00 noon at the Sandy Senior Center.
Earl Franklin Dibble was born in Glenrock,Wyoming on December 1, 1934 to Virgil and Mildred (Canter) Dibble. As a young boy, the family moved to Oregon and made their home in Sandy.
On March 16, 1957, Earl was united in marriage to LaVerne Hopkins in Stevenson, Washington. They returned to Sandy where they made their permanent home and raised their family. In the early 1960’s Earl was employed at Boeing for a short time prior to starting his career in the logging industry. He worked for Carrigan Logging and later for Schoppert Logging driving log truck until he retired.
Earl was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed hunting, cooking and building and flying model airplanes.
Surviving is his wife LaVerne; his son, Vern Dibble; his daughters, Linda Minnick and Diana Alter all of Sandy; his brother Everett Dibble of Kingman, Arizona and Larry Dibble of Curlew Lake, Washington; his sister, Frances Hernandez of Gresham; 5 grandchildren, Josh, Dor’ree, Shala, Beau and Michael and 5 great grandchildren, Dahlia, Teagues, Ashley, Karlee and Tyler.
