Longtime Boring resident, Edith E. Dodson died peacefully in her sleep at her home on Tuesday, November 17, 2009. She was 90.
A Funeral Service will be held at Sandy Funeral Home on Monday, November 23, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Private burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Gresham.
She was born, Edith Erene Nordin to Eric and Ida (Andersen) Nordin on May 27, 1919 in Boring. She received her elementary schooling at Cottrell Grade School and graduated from Sandy High School. Shortly after graduating, she furthered her education and attended Business College in Portland.
In 1939, Edith married William Dodson. They were later divorced. Edith remained in Boring where she raised her son and was employed at the Oregon Bulb Farm as a Bookkeeper for 46 years.
Edith enjoyed gardening, flowers, feeding and watching the birds and taking care of her home both inside and outside.
Surviving is her son Ted and his wife Joyce Dodson of Gresham; 3 grandchildren, Terry, Debbie and Tim and 3 great grandchildren, Tommy Taylor and Makenzie.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Adventist Hospice.
