Elsie May Kitchens passed away comfortably in her sleep at home surrounded by her children and grandchildren on Saturday, September 21st 2024 at the age of 83.
Elsie was born in Maryland on June 22nd 1941, where she grew up went to school, and eventually met her husband Billy Kitchens while he was stationed in the Army there. She then moved to Louisiana, his hometown where they lived for many years before moving to Oregon. Elsie and her husband bought their home in Corbett where they raised their children and many grandchildren over the years. Between working as a CMA at a nursing home, working on the farm, and planting many flowers and plants, which was a love of hers. She still always would make time for friends and family, greeting you with a smile, a laugh, and at the kitchen table there was always room for someone in need of a meal, a shoulder to cry on, or just her, to listen and give some advice. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her!
Elsie is survived by her 4 children Billy Kitchens, Ronnie Kitchens, Karen Kitchens, and Sheena Kitchens. Also 9 Grandchildren, 26 Great grandchildren, and 1 Great Great grandchild. All of which she was very close with. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years.
There will be a Celebration of Life held on Saturday October 5th at 2:00 PM at her home in Corbett.
