She was the 14th of their 17 children, and was raised and schooled in Streeter. She moved to Oregon in her teen years and lived with her eldest brother, Edward and his family. During a trip to Corcoran, California, Jean met her future husband Richard Wolfe. They were married on September 15, 1944. They began their family in North Dakota and later moved to Oregon, making their home in Portland. In 1957, the family moved to Sandy and began farming. In 1960, they moved to Boring where they opened and operated their family business, Dick Wolfe Meats. Jean’s husband passed away on March 31, 1991. Jean returned to Sandy that same year and lived there until 2007. When her health began to decline, she moved to Gresham to receive the care she needed.
Through the years, Jean was employed in various jobs, one of them being a housekeeper for local families. She was also the custodian at Orient Drive Baptist Church for 25 years, where she was a devoted and active member. She was sustained in life by her faith in her Lord and Savior, and found endless joy in her love for and care of children, through family, church, and community.
