Obituary

Ernest Elmer Marshall passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, August 7th, 2023. 


Ernie was born to Elmer and Ruth Marshall on March 31, 1942 in rural Estacada. He moved to Sandy at age 2 where he grew up and  attended school. He helped build their family home and worked the farm. Ernie graduated from Sandy Union High School in 1960. 


He married his wife, Mary, in 1970 and raised their family on their farm in Sandy. He was honorably discharged from the Army National Guard and had various hard labor jobs throughout his life. 


Ernie is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary; his children Kim Gurney, and Kevin (Juli) Marshall; five grandchildren, Jonathan (Jessica) Gurney, Alyssa (Chris) Cannon, Justin, Kyle and Jesse Marshall, four great-grandchildren, Bentlee and Jayce Gurney, Gunnar and Helen Cannon; siblings, Rich Marshall and Loraine Vigil. Preceded in death by his parents.

Mary and family, I'm so sad for Ernie's passing. A day doesn't go by that I don't think of you all and have for many many years. May he rest in peace. Deb Manley

ERNEST WAS A VERY NICE EASY GOING GUY. HE IS THE SPITTING IMAGE OF HIS DAD ELMER. THE ENTIRE FAMILY WERE HARD WORKERS AND VERY HONORABLE PEOPLE. WE NEED MORE PEOPLE LIKE THEM..
