Longtime Sandy resident, Evaline Webb died at her home on Friday, March 25, 2011. She was 86.
A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Sandy Assembly of God. A private burial was held at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
She was born, Evaline Geneva Caldwell to Fred and Lena (Marker) Caldwell at home on April 18, 1924 in Tuolumne, Californian. As a young infant, the family moved to San Diego where she was raised and received her schooling. While attending Escondido High School, she met her future husband, Arthur Webb. Shortly after graduating they were married on December 6, 1942 in Escondido. The following month, her husband entered the U.S. Army to serve in World War II.
After Art’s discharge in 1946, they made their home in Stockton, California where they began their family. Seven years later, the family moved to Antioch, California where they finished raising their family.
Besides fulfilling her duties as a wife and mother, Evaline was an Art Teacher for the Recreation Department of Antioch.
Evaline had a great love for art and was famous for her water colors. She was the co-founder of the Delta Art Association in Antioch, California. Evaline was a longtime member of Sandy Assembly of God. She was actively involved in the PTA and was an honorary life member. When her children were young she was actively involved in the community.
Surviving is her son Richard Webb of Sandy; her daughter Loralie Mirati of Portland; her sisters, Charlotte Hales of Virginia and Phyllis Platt of Stockton, California; 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son Michael Webb in 2005.
