She was born Evelyn Ida to Ernst and Emelia (Geisler) Wagner on December 10, 1921 in Deshler, Nebraska. Evelyn spent her early childhood in the Midwest. She moved with her family to Oregon in 1933 and attended West Gresham Grade School and then Gresham High School, graduating in 1941.
On August 30, 1942, she wed Richard Robert William Ulrich in Vancouver, Washington. They settled in Gresham and started their family.
Evelyn loved children and enjoyed bowling. She worked for over 20 years at Eastmont Lanes in Gresham taking care of little ones while their parents were bowling. She was a long time member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and enjoyed quilting for Lutheran World Relief. Both Evelyn and Richard were avid rock hounds and spent many days in Eastern Oregon and Nevada searching for “treasures”.
Richard preceded her in death in 2010. Survivors include her sons, Ron Ulrich of Sandy and Dan Ulrich of Culver; daughter Lola Flisram of Damascus; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
The family suggests contributions be made in Evelyn’s name to the Immanuel Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 686 Sandy, 97055.
