Sandy resident Florence L. Carter passed away on June 11th, 2009 at the age of 83.
Private burial will be held at Willamette National Cemetery.
She was born on March 17, 1924 in Muskegon, Michigan to Ora A. and Eva V. (Cousineau) Johnson. She was the youngest of three children. She received her education in Muskegon and graduated from High School in 1942. After graduation Florence went to work for Continental Motors. In 1947 she met and married Paul E. Carter. They started their family and Florence became a full time mother giving birth to 5 children. As her children grew she became active in scouting and was a scout leader. In 1962 she became the bookkeeper for the Girl Scouts Association.
Soon after retirement in 1977 Florence and her husband moved to Oregon. She was able to use her bookkeeping skills once again for the Oregon Trap Shoot Organization. At the age of 70 she went back to school to learn computer skills.
She enjoyed playing the piano, painting, quilting and traveling. She was truly loved by all and will be missed.
Survivors include her sons, Larry and Richard Carter of Sandy; daughters, Janis Carter of Kirkland, WA, Judy Cole of Sandy and Paula Johnson of Snohomish, WA, 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
