Oregon City Resident, Florence Lefever died at Providence Medical Center on Thursday July 12, 2012 at the age of 75.
A memorial Service will be held at Sandy Seventh- Day Adventist Church located at 18575 Langensand Road in Sandy, on Saturday August 11 at 4:00 PM. A graveside service will be held at Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Springfield, Oregon on Sunday Aug 12, 2012 at 11:00 AM. Directions will be given at the Memorial Service.
She was born, Florence Marie Harper to Harry and Juanita (Hamlet) Harper on August 29, 1936 in Riverside, California. The family moved to the Portland area in 1940 where she attended Carver Grade School and then Portland Union Academy High School. She studied nursing for 2 years at Walla Walla College in College Place, Washington.
Florence married William Lefever on August 2, 1957 and they made their home in College Place, Washington. Due to Bill’s employment, the family lived in various areas on the West Coast. They settled in Oregon and made their home in Sandy and Florence pursued her career in the health care industry and worked as a Health Clinic Office Manager. In the mid 1980’s, Florence took an early retirement due to health issues and for the next few years she owned and operated Lefever Ceramic & Gifts in Gresham. For the last 21 years, Florence and Bill have lived in Oregon City.
Florence enjoyed camping, traveling, quilting, gardening, parenting, being a loving grandmother and especially helping others.
Florence was preceded in death by her two oldest daughters, Debbie and Laurie. She is survived by her husband Bill, her son Bill Lefever of Renton, Washington; her daughter, Rebecca Fabian of Sandy, 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
