Washington resident, Genny Schrade died in Vancouver on April 9, 2016. Funeral services were held on April 12 at Sandy Funeral Home in Sandy, OR.
Genevieve Agnes Hopkins was born in Kensal, North Dakota to Ray and Agnes Hopkins on April 11, 1934. She was raised in the Kensal area where she attended school. After school, Genny became a certified nursing assistant. On October 10, 1953, Genny married Ernest Schrade in Moorehead, Minnesota.
Together, Genny and Ernie lived in Sandy, Oregon in their early years, lived in Baker City, Oregon from 1982 to 1994. After Ernest died in 1994, she moved to Woodland, Washington permanently.
Genny loved playing bingo, sewing, crafting and traveling. She was a member of the Woodland Garden Club and Baker City Tops.
Survivors include; children, Doug (Robin) Schrade of Middleton, Idaho, Connie (Al) Sandblast of Woodland, Glenda Golden of Portland, Pam Light of Gresham, Oregon; brothers, Dennis (Charlene) Hopkins of Valley, Alabama and Darrel (Tom) Hopkins of Westminster, Massachusetts.
