Obituary

Eagle Creek resident, George Cao died suddenly at Kaiser Sunnyside Hospital on Wednesday, October 10, 2012. He was 49.
A private family graveside will be held at George Pioneer Cemetery in Estacada.

George Luis Cao was born on August 18, 1963 in Havana, Cuba to Manuel Cao and Milagros (Aloy) Cao. He was raised in Havana and received his schooling there. He then went to work for a Cuban Airlines on the maintenance team. In 1090, George came to the United States and made his home in Miami, Florida for a time prior to moving to New Jersey. George was a hard-working man and worked sometimes 3 jobs at a time to support himself. In January of 1994, George settled in Oregon and made his home in Portland. While he was employed at the Ramada Inn at the Portland Airport, he met his future wife Bonne.
On January 29, 1995, George was united in marriage to Bonne Terry in Gresham. They made their home in southeast Portland. Prior to starting his career with Tri-Met, he and his wife owned and operated a coffee shop in Hillsboro. For the last almost 15 years, George has been a bus driver for Tri-Met where he was a Master Operator and was respected by his co-workers. He had also been given various awards throughout his career.
Surviving is his wife Bonnie; his three sons, George, Christopher and Alexander of Eagle Creek; his daughter, Surelys Cao of Grand Island, Nebraska; his father, Manuel Cao of Gresham; his mother Milagros Aloy of Portland; his sister, Sussett Cao of Portland
George was a loving, kind hearted and hard-working man. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, not only his family and friends. He was a wonderful husband, father, son and brother and will be greatly missed. He had a life-long fascination of Military Aircrafts and enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson. He had the knowledge of being able to fix just about anything and restoring old cars. George enjoyed teaching his boys to work along-side him and wanted to share his knowledge with them.
Sandy Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
