Longtime Boring resident, George Felix died suddenly at his home on Sunday, March 4, 2012. He was 79.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Sandy Funeral Home. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland at 12:30.
George Norman Felix was born on January 30, 1933 in Brainerd, Minnesota to Morris and Lottie (Merrill) Felix. As a young boy, the family moved to Oregon and made their home in the St. John’s area where George was raised and received his schooling. At the age of 18, George entered the U.S. Navy on January 25, 1951 in Portland. He was honorably discharged on December 10, 1953 in Long Beach, California. George then began his career as a truck driver.
In April of 1957, George was married to Patricia Knudsen in Portland. They made their home in the Portland area and George pursued his career as a truck driver for Western Kraft. In 1971, Patricia and George were divorced.
On June 28, 1980, George was united in marriage to Alice Clark in Sandy. They made their home in Boring and George continued driving truck for Western Kraft until retiring.
Mr. Felix enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter. He would spend many days at a time camping in the woods along with his pack horses. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time at the coast in his earlier years.
Surviving is his wife Alice; his brother, James Felix of Gresham; his son, Chris Felix of Oregon City; his daughter, Rebecca Farmer of Grants Pass; his step son, Kevin Probst of Portland; his step daughters, Debbie Sorensen of Gresham, Kim Hoffman and Michelle Peppers both of Boring; 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his sisters Shirley and Donna and his parents.
