Former longtime Gresham resident, George Lintner died at the age of 97 on Sunday, July 1, 2012 in Gresham.
A private family service will be held.
George Vance Lintner was born on November 25, 1914 in Blue Springs, Nebraska to Charles and Elsie Lintner. As a young boy, the family moved to Idaho where he received his elementary education. When George was in the 7th grade, the family moved to Oregon and made their home in the Gresham area and he attended Cottrell Grade School. He graduated from Sandy High School in 1931. George worked various jobs in the Gresham area until he became the owner and operator of George’s Alignment.
On September 9, 1938, George married Donzella Riseling after a three month courtship. They made their home in Gresham where they began their family and continued running their business. In 1979, George sold the business and retired.
George, along with his wife loved to square dance and they were members of the Country Cut Up’s in Boring. George enjoyed traveling in their motor home and fishing and was a past member of the Gresham School Board.
Surviving is his wife, Donzella Lintner of Gresham; his daughter, Betty Holmlund of Gresham; his sons, Skip Lintner of Gleneden Beach, Oregon and Larry Lintner of Portland; his sister, Barbara Bridgemon of Nashville, Tennessee; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Nancy Brown.
