Obituary

Gilbert “Gil” B. Flatt passed away on May 4th, 2022, in Sandy, Oregon from natural causes. He was 63.

Early in his life Gil immigrated to the US from Germany. Upon completion of his high school education, he enlisted in the US Navy. He served as an Aviation Electronics Technician from 1977 to 1995 where he met lifelong friends and accumulated many stories and experiences that were shared for years to come.

In 1983 he married Tina Marie, his wife of 29 years, who preceded him in death in 2012. In the early years of their marriage, they enjoyed travelling together. In 1990 they had their first child, a son named Jessie Raymond. Their daughter Alycia Lee, followed in 1992.

He was a man of many smarts and an abundance of humor. He enjoyed reading books and fast cars. He wasn’t a man that wore his feelings on his sleeves, but he showed his affections for his family through his actions. He was greatly loved by all and is missed tremendously.

Gil is survived by his son Jessie Flatt wife Jessica and their daughter Elizabeth of Sandy, OR; daughter Alycia Gorman and Husband TJ of Lake Charles, LA; brother Clement Flatt and wife Rosie of Simpson, LA; nephew John Flatt of Paragould, AR, nephew Jake Flatt of Simpson, LA and niece Sarah Flatt of Lewisville, TX. He was preceded in death by his wife Tina Flatt, mother Elisabeth Flatt and Father Jessie Willard Flatt.

roughly seven years ago Gil was the senior technician that trained me in my current role. He was extremely stubborn at first, but took me under his wing once he realized the potential I had to offer. I've always thanked Gil for his guidance, and respected him for who he was. I'm sad to hear of his passing, and wish I could have known him longer. I worked with Gil at Onsemi for a number of years until he retired. He was so much fun to work with and made going to work so much fun. He was also a good friend and will be greatly missed. So sorry for your loss. Deanna Vu
