A funeral service for lifetime Sandy resident, Glen “Rip” Carmony will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2014 in the chapel of Sandy Funeral Home. A private burial followed at Cliffside Cemetery.
Glen Isaiah Carmony was born on June 16, 1931 in Portland to Glen and Pamela Carmony. Glen was raised on a farm between Kelso and Boring and attended Kelso Grade School. A few years after graduating from Sandy High School, Glen served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1951 until his honorable discharge in 1952.
On July 8, 1955, Glen was united in marriage to Marian Marsh. In 1958, they moved to the ranch on Cedar Creek and made their permanent home and raised their family. Besides farming, Glen worked in building construction in Portland for 37 years.
Surviving is his wife, Marian; his sons, Casey, Larry, and Randy; daughter Nancy Richards; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren with one on the way.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Mt. Hood Hospice.
