Glenn Everette McAllister was born on October 14, 1950 in Great Lakes, Illinois to James and Maria McAllister. As a young boy he moved to Sherwood, Oregon where he was raised and lived with his Aunt Vivian and Uncle Glenn. Shortly after graduating from Sherwood High School he entered the U.S. Army on September 19, 1969. Glenn served in Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star. He was honorably discharged on April 29, 1971 and moved to Florida where he lived for a short time prior to returning to Oregon. He lived in Portland where he owned and operated a Radio Shack in Tigard. In the early 1980’s he began his career in electronics and manufacturing management. He was employed at Textronixs, Precision Cast Parts, Gerber Fiskar and in 2001 he went to work at Loughlin Wilt as an electronics engineering manager. Glenn’s health began to decline in 2003, which then forced him to retire. One year later, he and his wife moved to Sandy and made their permanent home.
Glenn was an avid photographer and had a great interest and amazing abilities with computers. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren, riding motorcycles, camping, Corvettes, working on their property, had a great love for animals and in return, they were drawn to him. Glenn was proud of his service to our country and was a man with a servant’s heart and would lend a helping hand to anyone.
