Portland, Oregon resident, Glenn Rodman died on November 22, 2014. A memorial service is being held on December 21 at 2:00 pm at Lake Bible Church in Lake Oswego, OR.
Glenn was born in Guymon, Oklahoma on December 21, 1936, to Gladys Marie (Newsom) Henderson and Glenn Thomas (Louie) Henderson. Richard Rodman was the "father" in his life from the time he married Glenn's mom until his death in 1971. When Glenn turned 21 he took the legal steps necessary to be adopted as Richard's son.
Glenn attended grade school in Guymon, Oklahoma and graduated from junior high there, transferring to Highland High School in Yakima, Washington, when his parents moved there. He graduated from high school in 1955 and attended Yakima Valley Junior College, graduating in 1957. In 1959 Glenn joined the Army and served until his honorable discharge in 1962. July 18, 1964, Glenn married June (Kenoyer).
Glenn was employed by Boeing Computer Services for sixteen years. He left Boeing to join Living Dynamics International where his duties were varied and sundry. He delivered flowers for Flowers Bert Cardwell and went from flower delivery to owner/operator of Sonshine Services, recovering and delivering home heating oil. He retired shortly after being diagnosed with early stage Alzheimer's in March 2005.
His interests included astronomy, chess, music and reading. He loved going to the Oregon Coast and cherished time with family.
As a young adult, Glenn received Christ as his Savior, loving and serving Him faithfully for the entirety of his life. As his mental and physical abilities diminished his spirit grew sweeter and stronger. He knew his God and who he was in Him. He continued to love and pray for his loved ones, expressing at every opportunity how precious they were to him and to God.
He is survived by his beloved wife of fifty years, June; four daughters, Janet Miletta (Mark), Renee Cedarleaf, Hannah Rodman Shaver, and Sarah Schlamp (Paul); twenty one grandchildren, one great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
Glenn Ray Rodman rose on November 22, 2014, when God called his name. He is experiencing no more sorrow, no more pain.
