She was born, Grace Anna Baker on August 28, 1918 in Dixie, Washington to Ralph and Letitia (Hankins) Baker. Grace was raised and received her schooling in Pasco, Washington. Shortly after graduating, she was united in marriage to Clarence Britton on December 31, 1938 in Billings, Montana. They made their home in Montana and began their family there. During the war, the family moved to Tacoma where Grace’s husband worked in the ship yards. After the war ended, the family moved to Milton- Freewater, Oregon and Grace worked in a cannery during the summer months. In December of 1953, the family moved to Kinzua, Oregon where they lived until 1961 when they moved to Touchet, Washington. In 1967, Clarence preceded Grace in death. She remained in Touchet until her youngest daughter graduated from high school and then lived in various areas in Washington and Oregon. Grace moved to Boring in 2004 to live near her family.

She did embroidery work and crocheted and made many many afghans. Grace loved watching the birds and could identify the various types that would come near the trees and feeders. She was a “caregiver” to both her family and others and was committed to the Lord.
