Gregory Paul Dimit Sr. died April 29th 2017. He was 70.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Coquille, Oregon.
Greg was born January 15, 1947 in Portland to Allie Elayne (Rose) and William Paul Dimit. He was raised there and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1965.
After graduation Greg joined the Oregon National Guard and was a member from 1966 to 1972. March 4, 1967 he married Margaret Ann (Biddle) in Tigard. They made their home in Portland until 1972 when they moved to Coquille. He spent his working career employed by the Oregon Department of Transportation for 31 years. Upon retiring in 1996 he and Margaret moved to Sandy. Greg wasn’t quite ready for retirement so he worked part time at Sandy Ace Hardware until July 2015 when he really retired.
Greg enjoyed hunting, fishing, antiquing, collecting oil lamps and was a big Portland Trailblazer fan. He was also very proud of his kids and grandkids. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Coquille for 23 years and a 12 year member of the Coos County Sheriff Reserves.
He is survived by his mother Allie of Springfield; sister Vicki Parker of Springfield; daughters Michelle (Robert) Reyna, Shawn (Jon) Harrang;
son, Greg Dimit Jr.; grandkids Ryan and Ashley Reyna, Rachael, Lily and Emma Harrang, Logan Dimit.
